Rautahat, September 18
Cadres of CPN-Maoist Centre and Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal have engaged in a clash while voting was underway at a voting centre in Rautahat district today.
The clash ensued at the Gamhariya Pataura voting centre in Maulapur Municipality-3 of the district after Maoists allegedly facilitated the entrance of some non-voters as the party’s agents. The Forum had protested the move, resulting in the clash, according to security officials.
Police, however, contained the situation by opening a fire in the open.
Voting was disrupted for around one hour after the incident, but it has already resumed, according to police.
Meanwhile, some cadres of both sides have sustained injuries in the incident.
