Kathmandu, February 9
A team from the World Bank has held a meeting with the Ministry of Agricultural Development officials to review progresses made by agricultural development projects launched by the government with the World Bank assistance.
The team led by Patrick Verissimo held a meeting with MoA Secretary Suroj Pokhrel and other top officials of the team at Singhadarbar on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the World Bank officials also called the Ministry to prepare a document on its expectations from the Bank as the Bank is also preparing a four-year assistance modality, warning the government could lose the opportunity if the document could not be communicated on time.
Verissimo is currently leading a mission deployed to help Nepal government conclude Project for Agriculture Commercialisation and Trade (PACT). The government launched PACT with the World Bank assistance in 2009. It is expiring on June 30 this year.
Meanwhile, the World Bank mission also interacted with the projects’ beneficiaries in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur districts.
