Will create environment for healthy competition in transport sector, says Home Minister

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa

Rupandehi, April 27

Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa says he is committed to creating an environment conducive for free and healthy competition in the transportation sector.

Of late, Thapa has become popular for his decision to stop registering and renewing committees of transport entrepreneurs as NGOs after finding out that they were practising monopoly on certain routes as cartels.

Speaking with journalists at Gautam Buddha Airport in Bhairahawa of Rupandehi today, Thapa said, “Rest assured that there will an environment for healthy competition in the sector as we will kill all syndicates.”

In another context, he said some elements were trying to push the country towards instability again, but he would not spare them.

The Minister claimed that three levels of the government from the centre to local units would coordinate among each other to control criminal activities and provide quality services to people.

Thapa is in Rupandehi to take part in a provincial seminar here.
