Design and display

Vivo Y35 has the same design as the Vivo Y22 series with only a small tweak in the camera module. The phone comes with a glass front, plastic back and a plastic frame build. It has the same design on the back, a square-shaped camera module housing two-big sensors and a flash. Since it has a triple camera setup, a small camera has been added to the bottom right of the camera module and the placement of the flash is different. Other than this, the phone looks the same as the Y22 series. It also has the same IP5X (dust) and IPX4 (water) resistance certification. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometrics.

On the front is a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display offering a resolution of 1,080*2,400 pixels and 401 PPI density. The display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen can reach a peak brightness of up to 550 nits and also filters out the harmful blue lights which cause eye strains.

Cameras

No major change in the camera section on Vivo Y35. The phone features a triple camera setup on the back and a single selfie sensor on the front. The 50MP main camera sensor on the back is accompanied by a couple of 2MP macro and depth sensors. On the front is a 16MP selfie sensor.

The camera modes on the phone include night (front and rear), portrait, photo, video, high resolution, panorama, live photo, slow motion, time-lapse, pro, documents and double exposure.

The main sensors on the back and the front cameras are capable of recording 1080p resolution videos at 30fps. The EIS on the rear camera can be useful while shooting videos.

Performance and storage

Vivo Y35 runs on the same processor as Vivo Y22s. The phone runs on FunTouch OS 12 based on Android 12. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G (6nm) chipset, which is a bit disappointing as it is the same chipset used by the cheaper Y22s. The graphical duties are handled by Adreno 610.

The phone has an ultra-game mode and Multi-turbo 5.5, which boost the gaming performance of the phone.

For storage, Vivo Y35 comes in a single 128GB storage option coupled with 8GB of RAM. However, the storage on the phone can be expanded by up to 1TB through a micro SD card, for which there is a dedicated slot. Similarly, the extended RAM 3.0 mode on the phone allows for the extension of the RAM storage by up to 8 GB.

Battery life, connectivity and others

Vivo Y35 gets power from a 5,000mAh non-removable lipo battery. Vivo has marketed the battery will provide up to 14.3 hours of online HD movie streaming, up to 7.05 hours of graphics-intensive gaming time and up to 24 days of standby time. The battery can be charged through a 44W fast charger, which is a great feature for smartphones in this price category. With this, the phone gets a 70 per cent charge in just 34 minutes.

Vivo Y35 supports dual sims with up to 4G network connectivity. The support of dual-band wifi helps the phone to switch between the best frequencies. It uses a USB Type-C 2.0 cable for charging and wired pairing while uses Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless pairing with other compatible devices.

The audio on the phone also gets upgraded as the phone features audio booster 2.0, which allows greater clarity even in noisy surroundings. The phone also offers a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The price of the Vivo Y35 is Rs 30,999 and at the moment is only available in a single 8/128GB variant.
