Vivo’s latest budget offering, the Vivo Y03 is official in Nepal. The budget option is the successor of the Vivo Y02. Even though being the successor of the Y02, the Y03 has significant changes in terms of design, durability, chipset, camera and charging.

The Y series from Vivo has been popular with the new design language and performance features. Vivo currently has the V series and the Y series in Nepal. Other options from Vivo include the T series and the X series. The T series is the more premium mid-range option and the X series is the flagship offering from Vivo.

Design and Display

The Vivo Y03 has a new and refreshed design from its predecessor, the Vivo Y02. The major difference can be seen at the back with the camera design. The Y02 has a large round camera module which is inside of a rectangular area with curved edges. The Y03 on the other hand has two camera rings on the left side with metal-like shiny rings. The flash is just on the side of the main camera module. With two colour options; gem green and space black. The gem green option has a shiny finish whereas the space black option has a matte finish.

The frame of the Vivo Y03 is also made up of plastic with curved edges and has a shiny finish to it. On the front, the display has a 2.5D curved design which helps for a firm grip. The top houses the selfie camera in a water-drop notch design.

The display features a 6.56-inch LCD with a resolution of 1612 × 720. It has a maximum refresh rate of 90 Hz and offers 70 per cent NTSC colour saturation. The pixel density is 269 PPI, providing clear visuals. It utilizes LED for light emission and has a capacitive multi-touch screen for responsive interaction. The Vivo Y03 is durable with drop and scratch resistance. It also has IP54 dust and water resistance for further safety support.

Performance and Storage

The Vivo Y03 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset built on a 12nm process. Its CPU consists of an octa-core configuration, with 2 Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz. Handling graphics is the Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. The smartphone runs on Android 14 with Funtouch 14 as its operating system.

As for memory, the Vivo Y03 packs 4GB of RAM and offers 64GB of storage space. It also has an extended RAM feature allowing users to use the internal space to increase the RAM by 4GB.

Camera

The Vivo Y03 features a rear camera setup consisting of a 13 MP main camera and a 0.08 MP auxiliary camera. The main camera has an aperture of f/2.2, while the auxiliary camera has an aperture of f/3.0. It offers various scene modes for the rear camera, including Night, Portrait, Photo, Video, Panorama, Documents, Slo-mo, Time-lapse, Pro, and Live Photo.

For selfies, it sports a 5 MP front camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and provides scene modes such as Night, Portrait, Photo, Video, and Live Photo.

Battery and Others

The Vivo Y03 is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, ensuring extended usage without frequent recharging. It supports 15W wired charging for quick and convenient power replenishment. For connectivity, it features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, offering dual-band support for reliable internet access, and Bluetooth 5.0 for seamless wireless connections with compatible devices.

It operates on LTE networks and has support for dual Nano SIM cards for enhanced flexibility. Audio is delivered through a single speaker and even though being a budget smartphone it does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has sensors like the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.

The Vivo Y03 is available in two colour options; gem green and space black.

The Vivo YO3 is official in Nepal for Rs 13,499 for the available 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option.
