Kathmandu, July 3

Either Upendra Yadav-led Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal or Bijay Kumar Gachhadar-led Nepal Democratic Forum will become the fourth largest political force at the local level nationwide, results of the second phase of local level elections held last week have shown.

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party, the fourth major force in House, is sure to lose its recognition as the party has secured victory in only one local units as results from more than two third places have come out as of Monday morning.

The RPP had secured victory in only one place in the first phase as well. The party, however, is leading the count in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City among other few places

The Gachhadar-led party has secured wins in top positions in four units whereas Yadav’s Forum in alliance with Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti has won six positions so far.

Despite the merger with Ashok Rai’s Federal Socialist Party, Yadav’s party could not secure any victory in eastern hills, which were believed to be a stronghold of Rai.
