UML’s acts will weaken national unity, push country towards civil war, warns Federal Alliance

Kathmandu, December 22

The Federal Alliance has accused the main opposion CPN-UML of trying to upset ethnic and social harmony.

 

Thursday’s meeting of the FA concluded that UML’s activities were regressive.

It said UML’s activities will weaken national unity and push the country towards a civil war.

Upendra Yadav, coordinator of the alliance, said in a press release: We appeal the UML to stop engaging in activities that jeopardise important achievements like federalism, republicanism, secularism and inclusive democracy.

The alliance called concerned parties to push forth the relevant parliamentary process by amending the Constitution Amendment proposal as per a three-point understanding.

It decided to hold interactions in Kathmandu within a week, conduct similar interactions in 10 provinces and build popular support for its movement.
