UML-Maoist Centre task forces discuss draft statute, political report of unified party

Kathmandu, February 22

Two task forces formed by the Party Unification Coordination Committee, which is preparing for the unification between the CPN-UML and the CPN-Maoist Centre, have held a joint meeting to discuss the unified party’s statute and political report among other documents today.

Earlier on Monday, while signing the final deal for the merger, top leaders of the two parties had formed separate panels to draft the unified party’s statute draft and organisational structure as well as a report on contemporary political issues.

UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal were also present at the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

Details of the discussions have not been made public yet.
