Two Indian nationals held while applying for Nepali passport

Birgunj, November 29

Police in Parsa district have arrested two Indian nationals when they submitted applications seeking the acquisition of Nepali passport and citizenship certificate.

Dinesh Kumar Sah and Arbinda Kumar Sarraf, current residents of Birgunj in the district, were arrested on the charge of submitting fake Nepali citizenship certificates to acquire the documents.

Whereas Sah had applied for his own passport, Sarraf was at the District Administration Office to acquire citizenship for his son on the basis of his fake papers, according to SP Revati Dhakal of the District Police Office.

Meanwhile, locals in the city have demanded that the government launch an investigation into the citizenship certificates here as dozens of Indian nationals have acquired Nepali citizenship after submitting false information.
