Student killed in early morning bus hit, traffic obstructed in Chabahil

The traffic movement in Chabahil area of Kathmandu has been obstructed on Monday morning after a passenger bus hit and killed a college student in Sukedhara in an early morning student.

After local Om Hospital pronounced that Sristi Panta, 21, a student of Pashupati Campus, was dead in the accident, other students of the college resorted to a protest. They also vandalised and torched some other vehicles on the road.

Shyam Lal Gyawali, the spokesperson at the Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office, says a bus operating on Kathmandu-Bhaktapur route (Ba 4 Kha 5920) hit Panta, who was crossing the road, at around 5:45 this morning.

Seriously injured, Panta was rushed to the hospital, but had died in a few minutes.

Police arrested a few students for their alleged involvement in the arson.
