Kathmandu, January 23

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed personnel of Armed Police Force to stay prepared to cope with ever-changing security challenges.

The Prime Minister, who also takes the charge of Ministry of Home Affairs, says the government is formulating new policies and plans to strengthen the APF in the new context.

Speaking at a function organised on the 17th anniversary of the organisation in Kathmandu today, he assured that new policies would not affect the chain of command maintained in the organisation.

He appreciated the APF’s role in the country’s security management.

Speaking at the function, APF Inspector General Singha Bahadur Shrestha said his organisation was ready to take risk in order to protect the country. He informed that the organisation was also adopting a federal setup to mobilse its personnel in all seven provinces.
