Sarlahi river sweeps away woman, kids on their way to parents’ home for Dashain Tika

Four members of the same family– mother and three children– have gone missing in Sarlahi after being swept away by a river.

Radhika Dhungana, 29, her sons– seven-year-old Kismat and one-year-old Kriti–and five-year-old daughter Kritika were washed away by the flooded Lakhandehi River on Monday.

The river was swollen following the rainfall in the afternoon.

The family suffered the misfortune as Radhika along with her children was on the way to her paternts’ home in Jiyajor of Sarlahi from Bara to receive the Dashain Tika, police said.

Likewise, the body of Bhimmaya Kafle, 55, of Jutpani, Lalbandi-2 who had gone missing after being swept away by a river few days ago has been retrieved.

One Ram Dev Saha, 60, of Pindari has gone missing after he was washed away in the flood, the Sarlahi District Police Office said.

Police are searching for all the missing.
