Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic are the latest versions of the Samsung’Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatch series. Because of their portability and smart features, smartwatches are getting a lot popular these days. There is huge competition among smartphones to be the best, and in recent years, the same can be said on smartwatches as well. This competition has led companies to introduce so many useful and advanced features on a tiny and portable device.  

Samsung is one of the best to do so and Watch 4 has plenty to provide. It is one of the best smartwatches available in the market at the moment.

Both Galaxy Watch 4 series, Galaxy Watch 4, and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic come in two display sizes and resolutions. The 1.2-inch panel has a maximum resolution of 396*396 pixels whereas the other 1.4-inch panel has a 450*450 pixels resolution. Both watches come with a Super AMOLED panel, but the protection on Watch 4 is Gorilla Glass DX+ whereas it is Gorilla Glass DX is in the Classic.

Also, the standard Watch 4 comes in either 40mm or 44mm compared to the Watch 4 Classic that comes in 42mm or 46mm cases. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is bigger between the two, though having the same size, because it has a rotating bezel. Talking about the build of these watches, the Watch 4 has an aluminium frame whereas the Watch 4 Classic boasts stainless steel or a titanium frame.

The new Samsung smartwatches are powered by the new Exynos W920 SoC which replaces the Exynos 9110 that Samsung has been using since 2018 on its smartwatches. The new Exynos W920 SoC is a 5Nm chipset that clocks at 1.18GHz.

The new series has 1.5GB of RAM and a 16GB internal memory that cannot be expanded with an SD card. 

The software used on the Galaxy Watch 4 series is also new. Samsung was previously using Tizen OS, but this time, it has chosen One UI Watch for its smartwatch series. The use of this software means better synchronisation with Galaxy smartphones. The company also claims it brings improvements like longer battery life, smoother animations, and faster loading of the apps.

Health tracking features

Samsung Watch 4 series has plenty of health features at its disposal. This smartwatch is the first to feature a bioactive sensor, which means it has an optical heart rate, bioelectrical impedance analysis, and an electrical heart rate sensor.

So what do these sensors do? These sensors can measure your heart rate and blood pressure. They also detect irregular heartbeat, measure blood oxygen level on your body and track your sleep.

Battery, connectivity, and compatibility

The smaller version of the Galaxy Watch series (40/42mm) features a 247mAh Li-ion battery whereas the larger (44/46mm) version has a bigger 361mAh Li-ion battery. Both support wireless charging.

For connectivity, the Galaxy Watch 4 series supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and has an in-built GPS and NFC enabled.

Both these watches are compatible with all Samsung phones and also non-Samsung Android smartphones. They should support Android OS 6.0 or above and should have at least 1.5GB of RAM. 

The price of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is Rs 34,999 for 40mm and Rs 36,999 for 44mm. Likewise, the price of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is Rs 46,999 for 42mm and Rs 49,999 for a 46mm variant.
