Biratnagar, November 30
The spokesperson of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s Nepal Communist Party has said the government needs to seriously review its performance.
Narayan Kaji Shrestha’s statement comes at a time when the government is under fire from members of the public for failing to conclude the investigation into the rape and murder of Nirmala Pant and its involvement in hosting the controversial Asia Pacific Summit.
Shrestha says the self review is a must as the government needs to ensure result oriented performance.
Speaking with journalists at the Biratnagar Airport on Friday morning, Shrestha also lamented the rise of factional activities in the party, stressing the need to discourage them.
“We cannot hide the fact that our party has not been free of factionalism,” he said, “Factions based on personal interests should be discouraged. Serious discussions over the issue are necessary.”
