Saptari, March 7
A day after the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal withdrew the support extended to the government, five top leaders of the Rastriya Janata Party are gathering in Maleth of Saptari district on Thursday.
It has been said the the party’s presidium members will address an event organised to mark the second anniversary of the death of five Madheshi people killed in police firing. However, it is expected that the event will kickstart the party’s anti-government movement the party has announced to launch soon.
Aggressive with the Kailali District Court’s decision to convict its lawmaker Resham Chaudhary, the party on Wednesday had withdrawn the support extended to the government.
RJPN presidium member Raj Kishor Yadav informs that the party’s top leaders will hold a meeting this Saturday to announce other protest programmes.
Meanwhile, Province 2 Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut and two members of his Council of Ministers–Nawal Kishore Sah and Shailendra Sah–are also attending the event.
Raut leads the coalition government that includes leaders of the RJPN and Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal. The Forum, however, has not withdrawn the support to the government at the centre as its chairman Upendra Yadav is a deputy prime minister in the KP Sharma Oli government.
