Kathmandu, May 25

The Rastriya Janata Party Nepal has said it will not join the new government to be formed under the leadership of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

A meeting of the party’s presidium this morning said there was not any situation to join the government.

Meanwhile, the party could not decide whether to participate in the second phase of local level elections scheduled for June 14.

Top leaders are discussing the issue and an appropriate decision will be taken soon, informs a presidium member Anil Kumar Jha.

The party is reportedly divided over the poll participation.

The meeting today, however, stressed that agitation should be continued in the Madhesh region to address  pending demands of Madheshi people.
