Rainbow coalition will take shape before Oli govt gets chance to present annual budget: NC

Balkrishna-Khand

Bhaktapur, May 5

The CPN-UML will cease to be if it obstructs the formation of a national unity government, a Nepali Congress leader said here on Thursday.

Central committee member of the Nepali Congress, Balkrishna Khand, said this at a face-to-face organised at Rafat Sanchar Club in Bhaktapur. If the current prime minister goes for (local) polls forgetting political norms, such polls will be no different from local elections that the royal regime conducted after the royal takeover, he said. The UML will cease to exist it chooses this course, Khand said.

This government has failed to do anything in fields like the economy, politics, society, international relations, constitution implementation and post-quake reconstruction, he said.

“This government will not get the opportunity to present its budget for the fiscal 2073-74 in the Parliament. Before that, the Congress will form a national government by bringing on board the UCPN-Maoist and Madheshi parties,” Khand said.
