The Cabinet of Province 5 has formed the a planning commission to expedite development in the state.
A meeting of the provincial Cabinet on Tuesday appointed Prakash Kumar Shrestha as the commission’s deputy chair. The Chief Minister is to chair the commission. Bijay Nath Chaudhary, the spokesperson for the provincial government, said that the commission was formed in accordance with a new piece of legislation enacted by the government using its administrative powers.
The meeting also appointed Sher Bahadur Khatri as press the advisor to the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel has directed line ministers to submit plans to meet capital expenditure goals for the next fiscal year to the Office of Council of Ministers of the Province within 10 days. A budget of Rs 1.2 billion has allocated for the province and it should be released within April 13.
