Prime Minister warns against delay in Narayangadh-Muglin road improvement

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday monitored the Narayangadh-Muglin road section in Chitwan district, where the road expansion work is going on.

On the occasion, he directed for timely completion of the project and warned that action would be taken against contractors and officials if the project was delayed.

Accompanied by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Bir Bahadur Balayar, the Prime Minister said, “This is a lifeline of the country. If you dillydally in any work, it cannot be tolerated. Expedite the works and complete the assignment at the earliest.”

“Please work in a way to facilitate traffic mobility before Dashain anyhow,” he added.

He assured that the government would fully cooperate in removing any hurdle caused by government offices in the project. The Prime Minister said he would hold talks with the World Bank officials as well if needed. The World Bank has provided financial support for the project.

Deuba travelled around 20-kilometre stretch of the road during monitoring.
