Former Prime Minister and NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ paid an emotional tribute to his son Prakash, on the first anniversay of his death.
“After Prakash’s death, I had to look after my family as well as the party,” said Prachanda at a memorial organised at the Dahal residence in Khumaltar on Monday morning. “Because of the support I received from everyone, I could look after both,” said Prachanda.
“If the country, the people and the leaders had not supported me, my family would have been dissolved,” said Prachanda as he burst into tears. He added that Prakash’s demise was a big blow to the party.
Prachanda’s wife Sita, who was full of tears since the beginning of the programme, could not hold her self and had to be supported by her daughters.
Although Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, former Chairman of Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi and RJP coordinator Mahanta Thakur were present during the event, only Prachanda and Prime Minister Oli addressed the gathering.
