Popular folk singer Badri Pangeni has been detained from a gambling den in Bansbari of Kathmandu on Tuesday night.
A police source says he is being released on Wednesday.
Pangeni among 11 persons was held while a team from the Maharajgunj police station raided the den last night.
Police had seized Rs 200,000 from them.
Pangeni was kept separate from other detainees as the police station also recognising his stardom, the source says.
