Kathmandu, January 25
Police have detained 26 activists who staged a protest against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli outside his official residence in Baluwatar of Kathmandu on Monday.
A human rights organisation, Human Rights and Peace Society, had staged the demonstration arguing Prime Minister Oli tried to influence the Supreme Court as the court is currently hearing the case against his decision to dissolve the House. The demonstrators had also accused Oli of forging government documents in his bid to make his move legitimate.
Those detained include veteran human rights activist Krishna Pahadi, and other leaders and members of the organisation such as Uttam Pudasaini, Krishna Kandel, Bal Bahadur Gaha Magar, Ram Krishna Baral, among others.
