PM’ll take six months to recover completely, but no problem in daily activities: Doctor

Kathmandu, March 10

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who had his kidney transplanted, for the second time in his life, last week will take around six months to recover completely, according to his personal doctor who was involved in the transplantation. However, she clarifies that the leader is now fit for daily regular activities.

Organising a press meet at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital on the seventh day of the transplantation, Dr Divya Singh Shah said, “We do not recommend that the PM can go to the crowds now. It might take as long as six months to get completely active and have movements like others. However, he does not have any problem in performing regular jobs.”

Dr Shah said the hospital would not discharge the prime minister in the next few days despite his request. “He wants to go out immediately, but his family has requested us to extend the stay for the next few days,” she said, adding, the doctors, on their part, would not discharge him unless they would be confident of his health.

“His health is improving well. I can see an early discharge though,” she maintains.
