Kathmandu, July 24

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has assured that the government is not planning to scrap the official trade union of government employees anytime soon.

He says anti-government forces spread rumours about it in order to make the government unpopular.

Responding to a delegation from the official union at his residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said, “I want to request you to get rid of any illusion. The government does not have any of such attitude.”

He also assured that the government was ready to meet genuine demands of the workers and they should not launch any protest.

On the occasion, the trade union handed over a sum of money to the Prime Minister to deposit at the PM’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund.
