Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed officials of security agencies to ensure safety of candidates contesting in upcoming provincial and federal parliamentary elections.
Deuba’s directive comes after reports of attacks on candidates of various parties have been made public in past few days.
The Prime Minister says attacks on poll candidates is an indication of cowardice of anti-election forces.
Deuba was speaking at the inauguration of a seminar of security officials of Province 7 in Dhangadhi of Kailali today.
Meanwhile, Deuba also told officials to ensure that the elections would take place in a free, fair and fearless manner.
