Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday left to New Delhi on a five-day state visit to India.
It is Deuba’s first foreign visit after his election to the top position in July. He, however, has visited India thrice as the PM earlier.
Deuba’s entourage includes his spouse Aru Rana Deuba, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara, other ministers, lawmakers and senior government officials.
Members of the Cabinet and government officials saw the team off at the Tribhuvan International Airport this morning.
On Thursday, Deuba is scheduled to meet Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi among other political leaders.
Nepal and India are likely to sign some agreements of bilateral cooperation during the visit.
