PM calls emergency Cabinet meeting to address monsoon crisis

Kathmandu, August 13

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called an emergency meeting of the Cabinet to discuss the situation in various parts of the country after recent devastating floods and landslides.

The meeting will take place at 5 pm at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar, according to a minister.

The minister says the meeting may declare the situation of emergency in flood-affected areas of Terai districts and various programmes for rescue and relief.

Just before the Cabinet, the Prime Minister is meeting central leaders of his Nepali Congress party.
