Petrol up by Rs15 and diesel by Rs10 across Nepal

Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of petroleum products.

According to the corporation, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 15 per litre, while diesel and kerosene have been increased by Rs 10 per litre each. The new prices will come into effect from Monday.

The corporation stated that under the third category, which includes Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal, the price of petrol has been set at Rs 172 per litre, while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 152 per litre.

Under the second category, which includes Dang and Surkhet, the price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 171 per litre, while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 151 per litre.

Similarly, under the first category, which includes Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj, petrol will cost Rs 169.50 per litre, while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 149.50 per litre.

The corporation said the price hike was necessary due to the international situation arising from tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

“In this difficult situation, Nepal Oil Corporation Limited has been compelled to increase the prices of petroleum products beyond expectations,” the corporation said in a statement. “The corporation is aware of and sensitive to the impact this may have on consumers and other stakeholders.”
