Paudel demands Deuba dissolve Parliamentary Board, Cetral Executive Committee

L-R: Nepali Congress leaders Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chandra Paudel

Kathmandu, January 15

Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel demands that Prime Minister and his party President Sher Bahadur Deuba dissolve the party’s Parliamentary Board and Central Executive Committee.

The Parliamentary Board decides candidates for parliamentary elections whereas the Central Executive Committee has less members and more power than the Central Working Committee.

Meanwhile, Paudel also demands that the President immediately call the CWC meeting.

“I have talked with the President today,” Paudel told Onlinekhabar after a meeting between top two leaders, “I argued that the bodies have been formed against provisions of the statute and should be dissolved.” It has been learned that both the bodies currently have more members than provisioned by the statute.

Paudel said the party needed a correction and it should begin with the dissolution of two bodies.

Deuba did not make any response to the appeal, according to Paudel.

Party’s spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma says the two leaders also discussed contemporary political issues including appointment of province chiefs and National Assembly polls.
