Parliamentary team visits Korala point to check security status

Mustang, April 17

parliamentary team conducted a field visit of Korala transit point on the Nepal-Tibet border in Mustang district.

A nine member team of the International Relations Committee reached the border area for the study about Beni-Jomsom-Korola road project and infrastructure as well as the security status of the border point.

The team that had arrived here last week and returned home today toured religious and touristic sites in the district; held discussions with bodies concerned and collected their feedback during their stay here, said House of Representatives member Prem Prasad Tulachan.

The team was requested for taking initiations for accelerating the Beni-Jomsom-Korola project, for constructing motorbale bridges at several places and for making diplomatic efforts and security and administration preparations to operate the Korola point.

Similarly, the Mustang folks called for establishing a health facility here targeting devotees and tourists visiting the famous Muktinath Temple.

The visit was aimed to collect feedback regarding the Visit Nepal Year 2020 and preparations for operating the Korola transit point.

The stakeholders concerned and the district people have stressed on infrastructure construction and dissemination of religious and other touristic sites in the district in view of the Visit Nepal Year 2020.
