Two members of the House of Representatives have demanded that the Federal Parliament postpone meetings of both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly for a certain time citing the entire country is living under the fears of novel coronavirus spread.

Speaking in the House meeting on Thursday morning, leaders of the main opposition Nepali Congress–Bharat Kumar Shah, and Bhimsen Das Pradhan–viewed that conducting meetings regularly would keep the lawmakers at the risk of infection.

“There is no point in running the House regularly while the entire world is under terror,” Pradhan said, “The infection’s possibility is greater in such places. Let’s close the House as soon as possible.”

They also demanded that the government also close schools and other academic institutions.
