Kathmandu, November 6

The government will stop the online licence application system from November 17 onwards.

Issuing a notice, the Department of Transport Management has said it will stop the online licence application system indefinitely.

The department says the service is being suspended because most of its employees will be deployed in the federal and provincial elections due to be held on November 20.

The department does not know when the service will be resumed.

The department has time again been accused of being lazy to print and distribute new licences to those who have passed the test. There are people who have had to wait for up to two years to get their licence.

The process to get the licence has also been criticised by the public.
