OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is the latest addition to the OnePlus Nord series. This is the lighter version of the recently released OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G. The phone was officially launched in India a few days ago and now is available in Nepal as well.
Since this is the lighter version of the Nord CE 2, it comes with compromises on display, camera and performance, making it more affordable than the former one. Though compromised on various features, this is a decent smartphone. It offers a higher refresh rate as well as bigger battery power. It also comes with the latest Android and OS straight out of the box.

Design and display
OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G has a glass front with a plastic body build. On the front, it looks the same as Nord CE 2 while there are minor changes on the back panel. The back panel on Nord CE 2 Lite now also features a textured design just beside the camera panel which was not seen on the Nord CE 2 5G. The fingerprint sensor now is side-mounted instead of the in-display seen on the Nord CE 2.
The phone weighs a little heavier at 195 grams and is also thicker at 8.5mm. It comes in two colour options: black dust and blue tide.
On the front of the phone is a larger 6.59-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2,400*1,080 pixels and 401 PPI density. The display on OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G offers a higher 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It also features an ambient display and dark mode.
Cameras
OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G features a triple camera setup on the back and a single selfie camera on the front. It has a similar 64MP main camera on the back but is accompanied by a couple of smaller resolution 2MP depth and macro sensor. There is no ultrawide sensor on this phone. On the front is a 16MP selfie shooter with an HDR feature.
The photography features include AI scene enhancement, slo-mo, dual-view video, HDR, nightscape, portrait mode, pano, retouching and inbuilt filters.
For the video, the main camera of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G can record videos in 1080p resolution only which is the same for the front camera as well. However, the user can enjoy slow-motion videos in 120fps but is limited only to 720fps. The user can also shoot time-lapse videos in 1080p resolution.
Performance and storage
OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G runs on the latest Android 12 with Oxygen 12.1 straight out of the box while OnePlus Nord CE 2 had Android 11 with OxygenOS 11. Powering the phone is Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G (6nm) chipset while the graphical duties are handled by Adreno 619. This is also an efficient chipset and should provide a decent gaming performance as well.
For storage, the phone comes with either 6GB or 8GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage. The memory can be further extended to 1 TB with the help of a microSD card, but there is no dedicated slot for the card.
Battery life, connectivity and other features
OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G has a larger 5,000mAh non-removable li-po battery. This is an upgrade from the 4,500mAh battery seen on the Nord CE 2 5G. This battery can offer good hours of web browsing, video surfing, music and even gaming. The battery can be charged with a 33W SuperVOOC fast charger.
OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G features a dual sim card which can support 5G network connections. The phone offers Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity while using a USB Type-C 2.0 for charging and wired connectivity. The phone also offers a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio connectivity.
