Kathmandu, December 11
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is meeting Nepali athletes who won various medals in the 13th South Asian Games that concluded in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
The prime minister’s secretariat says the players, their coaches and sports officials have been called for a meeting with Oli at 2:15 am at his residence in Baluwatar today. It is expected that Oli will announce some prize for the players as an encouragement for the future.
Nepal was in the second position of the final medal tally with 51 golds, 60 silvers and 95 bronzes. This time, Nepal received the highest number of gold medals in the decades-long history of SAG.
Oli had missed opening and closing ceremonies of the regional event due to health reasons. He, however, had delivered a video message to the players during the closing ceremony yesterday.
