Next general elections will cost the country Rs 10 billion: Commission

The Election Commission has estimated that the next general elections will cost the country Rs 10 billion.

In an interaction with key media editors in Kathmandu on Sunday morning, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya shared the estimation.

Under the general elections, the government is planning to hold the elections to the federal House of Representatives and provincial assemblies through voting on November 20, 2022. The elections will be held in one phase across the country.

The commission says around 18.2 million people are eligible for voting in the next elections.

The commission says its preparations for the elections are going on smoothly.
