The Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Centre have lauded Naya Shakti Nepal for its stress on Nepal’s economic development.
Apart from economic development, political stability is also a must, they said, asking NSN coordinator Baburam Bhattarai to take initiatives towards this end.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, addressing a programme organised at Dashrath Stadium on Sunday to announce the birth of NSN, lauded the new party for giving due priority to economic development.
Describing NSN’s slogan on economic development as relevant, Deuba said: Democracy has been established and a new constitution has been introduced. Now is the time to go for economic development and prosperity.
Political stability is a must for economic development and prosperity, Deuba noted, stressing the need to create an investment-friendly environment. He asked former prime minister Bhattarai to take initiatives for creation of a conducive atmosphere for investment.
Krishna Bahadur Mahara, leader of the CPN-Maoist Centre, also praised NSN’s slogan on economic development. But political instability poses an obstacle, he said, asking Bhattarai to take initiatives for political stability.
Pointing that he had worked together with Bhattarai, Mahara said: Baburam Bhattarai is full of resolve. Now he needs support from others.
