Nepali artist displays artworks at Manhattan exhibition

Kathmandu, June 15

Six immigrant artists including a Nepali based in the United States of America are currently displaying their artworks at an art show in Manhattan currently.

Dipika Shrestha from Nepal is one among six participants of the Journeys hosted by the English-Speaking Union (ESU), a non-profit, non-political charitable corporation which aims to utilise English as a catalyst to foster global understanding and goodwill.

The exhibition began on June 8 and lasts till August 4.

Shrestha is a freelance multimedia producer, currently living in New York. She has worked in the areas of women’s health, environmental changes, and using media in humanitarian emergencies while with BBC Media Action in Nepal.

Her photos in the exhibit revolve around issues of health (eye care, and menstrual care), access to free education, and motherhood.
