Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said on Sunday that Nepal Army should not be dragged into conflict-era cases.

Prachanda said this while visiting the NA headquarters, lauding the national army for the role it played in Nepal’s peace process.

He pledged to accord due honour to the army for this contribution.

Prachanda further said: The government is aware of the need to keep Nepal Army’s morale high. It has a strong stance that the army should not be dragged into conflict-era cases.

Those who have fought in war know more about the importance of peace than others, who have a ringside view of the war, he said.

He said NA has played an important role in establishment of global peace. Prachanda also lauded the army for its role in post-quake rescue, relief distribution, reconstruction work and development of projects of national pride.

The PM said: The government is of the view that national security and territorial integrity will strengthen only if the army is strong.
