Nepal ready for ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup

The Nepal team is all set to take part in the ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 20-member team, comprising 15 players, returned home on Monday after playing three practice matches in Bangladesh in course of preparations for the Cup, technical analyst Raman Shiwakoti said.

The squad includes captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandip Lamichhane, Asif Skheikh, Anil Kumar Saha, Sandip Sunuwar, Rohit Kumar Poudel, Kishore Mahato, Pranit Thapa Magar, Sahab Alam, Kamal Singh, Prakash KC , Jitendra Singh, Bhim Sarki and Rashid Khan.

Binod Das is the main coach and Kalam Ali is the assistant trainer.

Under the tournament, the Nepali team will play their opening match with Bangladesh on November 11 and will face India for the second match on November 12.

Nepal and the host country Malaysia will be together for the final group match on November 14.

Nepal are in the Group ‘A’ of the Cup chart.

Nepal were qualified for playing the tournament by winning the title of ACC U-19 Eastern Region Championship held in Malaysia last month.
