Nepal Food Corp starting sale of goats for Dashain from today

With the festival of Dashain already in the air, Nepal Food Corporation is starting the sale of Himalayan goats and goats from Sunday. It has already decided the prices of the goats that it is selling. NFC has already brought in 750 Himalayan goats and 400 goats, from the Himalayan district of Manang and the Tarai region, respectively.

NFC spokesperson Pawan Karki said NFC is selling these goats from its Thapathali-based Bagmati Zonal Food Godown from 2 pm.

In view of increase in meat consumption during Dashain, NFC is bringing in more goats from Tarai and Himalayan goats from Mustang.

 

  • Goat weighing up to 25 kg will cost Rs 440/kg
  • Goat weighing more than 25 kg will cost Rs 450/kg, whereas Himalayan goat will cost Rs 650/kg
  • Compared to last year, goat price has gone up Rs 15/kg, whereas the cost of Himalayan goat has increased by Rs 30/kg
  • NFC is selling these goats from its Thapathali-based Bagmati Zonal Food Godown from 2 pm

According to the price list that NFC has just made public, goat weighing up to 25 kg will cost Rs 440/kg.

Goat weighing more than 25 kg will cost Rs 450/kg, whereas Himalayan goat will cost Rs 650/kg, Karki informed.

Compared to last year, goat price has gone up Rs 15/kg, whereas the cost of Himalayan goat has increased by Rs 30/kg.
