Nepal Covid-19 tally: 776 new cases, 501 recoveries, 13 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 25

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 903,847 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 776 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 8,284 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 673 returned positive. Likewise, 2,580 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 103 tested positive.

Of total tests, 8.12 per cent of the PCR and 3.99 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 7.14 per cent.

As of today, there are 10,360 active cases across the country. Of them, 743 are hospitalised, 254 in intensive care units and 74 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 501 people have achieved recovery whereas 13 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 788,008 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,361 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.3 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 57,610 people were vaccinated today.
