Nepal Covid-19 tally: 382 new cases, 252 recoveries, 0 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 925,015 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 382 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 5,007 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 342 returned positive. Likewise, 15,952 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 40 tested positive.

Of total tests, 6.83 per cent of the PCR and 0.25 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.82 per cent.

As of today, there are 4,969 active cases across the country. Of them, 241 are hospitalised, 89 in intensive care units and 27 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 252 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were zero deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 812,210 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,594 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 139,152 people were vaccinated today.
