Nepal Covid-19 tally hits 15,784

Kathmandu, July 5

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 15,784 as of Sunday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 293 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In total, 4,710 swab samples were tested in this period. Nepal has tested over 250,000 people for coronavirus so far.

Of the total cases so far, 6,547 people have achieved recovery whereas 34 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 132 people have been discharged. Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate has been a bit above 41 per cent.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Mahottari, Rautahat, Palpa, Kailali, Achham, and Bajura have more than 500 active cases each.

Over 31,500 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
