Nepal Covid-19 tally: 927 new cases in 24 hours, 415 in Kathmandu valley

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 36,456 Friday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 927 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 350 are from the Kathmandu district alone. There are 415 new cases in the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 10,229 swab samples were tested. So far, 658,110 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far 20,242 people have achieved recovery whereas 195 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 169  people have been discharged whereas 12 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 56 per cent.

The other 16,019 cases are active currently. Of them, 9,573 are isolated in hospitals across the country. The rest 6,446 are in home isolation. Of those hospitalised, 164 are in intensive care units, and 22 are on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Dhanusha, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Bara, Lalitpur, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 8,99 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
