Nepal Covid-19 tally: 549 new cases, 569 recoveries, 6 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 906,325 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said 549 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,145 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 490 returned positive. Likewise, 2,601 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 59 tested positive.

Of total tests, 6.85 per cent of the PCR and 2.26 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 5.63 per cent.

As of today, there are 10,151 active cases across the country. Of them, 772 are hospitalised, 242 in intensive care units and 78 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 569 people have achieved recovery whereas six deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 790,358 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,388 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.3 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 125,527 people were vaccinated today.
