Nepal Covid-19 tally: 4,624 PCR and 2,029 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 101

Kathmandu, June 4

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 581,560 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 4,624 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In this period, 14,182 swab samples were tested. The positivity rate was 32.6 per cent.

So far, 3 million and 121,120 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 6,631 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 2,029 tested positive.

As of today, there are 97,699 active cases across the country. Of them, 6,807 are hospitalised, 1,422 in intensive care units and 404 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 8,663 people have achieved recovery whereas 101 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 81.9 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 476,130 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 7,731 died, according to the ministry.

Over 750 are quarantined across the country.
