Nepal Covid-19 tally: 316 new cases, 259 recoveries, 3 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 917,180 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry said 316 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,919 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 285 returned positive. Likewise, 1,808 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 31 tested positive.

Of total tests, 2.57 per cent of the PCR and 1.71 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.48 per cent.

As of today, there are 6,954 active cases across the country. Of them, 344 are hospitalised, 120 in intensive care units and 37 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 256 people have achieved recovery whereas two deaths were been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 803,168 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,529 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 227,584 people were vaccinated today.
