Nepal Covid-19 tally: 315 new cases, 304 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, December 7

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 918,764 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 315 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,386 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 272 returned positive. Likewise, 2,424 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 43 tested positive.

Of total tests, 2.89 per cent of the PCR and 1.77 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.66 per cent.

As of today, there are 6,352 active cases across the country. Of them, 339 are hospitalised, 123 in intensive care units and 30 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 304 people have achieved recovery whereas two deaths were reported.

Of the total cases so far, 805,205 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,545 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.8 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 127,753 people were vaccinated today.
