Nepal Covid-19 tally: 315 new cases, 201 recoveries, 6 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 917,495 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 315 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,511 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 298 returned positive. Likewise, 1,892 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 17 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.13 per cent of the PCR and 0.89 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.76 per cent.

As of today, there are 7,045 active cases across the country. Of them, 330 are hospitalised, 110 in intensive care units and 38 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 201 people have achieved recovery whereas six deaths were been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 803,369 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,535 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 141,557 people were vaccinated today.
