Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,856 new cases, 3,336 recoveries, 5 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 25

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 158,089 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,856 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,535 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 12,311 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 393,173 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 45,752 cases are active currently. Among them, 32,573 are in home isolation. Likewise, 277 are in intensive care units and 66 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 111,670 people have achieved recovery whereas 847 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 3,336 people have been discharged whereas five deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 70.6 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, Rupandehi, Banke, Surkhet and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang does not have any active case.

Over 3,000 people are quarantined across the country.
